About Me

Hi, I’m Josh

Hi, I’m Josh – counsellor, coach, and the founder of Peninsula Counselling Solutions in Frankston.

My journey into counselling began long before I trained as a professional. As a teenager and young adult, I experienced anxiety and depression. At the time, finding help was difficult. Mental health was still heavily stigmatised, and many of the people I turned to didn’t really understand what I was going through. Support often felt clinical and distant, when what I needed was empathy, compassion, and someone who could relate.

Those experiences shaped me and are the reason I now work as a counsellor helping people. They taught me the importance of being truly heard and understood, and they inspired me to give back by helping others who feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed. I know what it’s like to feel as though you don’t belong or that the pieces of your life don’t make sense. And I know the relief that comes when you finally find clarity and connection.

Today, I bring together my lived experience with my professional training as an ACA-accredited counsellor and ongoing professional development in psychology, sociology and personal development, to create a safe, supportive space for people of all ages (from 14 to 75). I specialise in working with stress, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and family or relationship challenges. But more than labels, I work with people. Every story is unique, and every session is tailored to
meet you exactly where you are.

My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and practical. I don’t use jargon or overwhelm you. Instead, I listen deeply, reflect what I hear, and walk alongside you as we make sense of the fog together. I’ll guide you with empathy and compassion, but I’ll also hold you accountable when needed, helping you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Beyond counselling, my background includes years of working in customer service and career guidance, which gave me valuable insight into people from all walks of life. That experience helps me connect with clients in a relatable, down-to-earth way.

Above all, I believe that with the right support, anyone can find their way through the storm and into calmer waters. I feel immensely privileged to share the lives of my clients in their counselling journey. I hope to connect with you soon.
